Questions from Reading #2

1. Aura is a feeling that expressed from a person or a place. Do you think aura is an important role when people enjoy art just for distraction?

2. According to Walter Benjamin, the primary task of art is always to satisfy the desires that haven't been fulfilled yet. So what does the art of mechanical reproduction try to satisfy? In other words, what do we want to satisfy after we reproduce art works?

Project 3: Animation

*This is the animation based on the third version of my triptych. I kind of wanted to create a story for my picture. The cat is a time travel. It used its computer to transport things from different time to a weird space, and this time it brought a metal Triceratops. I also tried to made some interesting movement to the lady on the left side. She is hard to be noticed but I let her stick her head out a little bit when she saw the cat appeared. Then hide when she saw the creepy giraffe approached and came out eventually. Thanks for watching and reading!

Project 2: Digital Triptych Montage

*The theme is steampunk time travel. Before I started my project, I did a searching about steampunk. It emphasizes steam power, so I tried to use the steam image to approach this topic. Another theme need to be carried out is time travel. For that one I used some famous paintings. The reason is because I think every piece of art work tells us different parts of history, which is perfect to show the concept of time travel.

1. How is style related to one's aesthetics?

2. If style is only the byproduct of an ideal and does not go into a work, why does people always focus on different artists' styles?
